Job Seekers Weekly Meeting
Fairmount Presbyterian Church’s Careers in Transition (CIT) group is free and open to the public.  The group meets every Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. at the Shaker LaunchHouse (3558 Lee Road, Shaker Heights).

CIT’s lively group discussions focus on providing advice, guidance and counsel to members of the community in need of direction with their individual career paths.  Attendees will learn the “Headhunters’ Approach to Career Transition,” a different, more effective approach to achieving their career goals, including the discussion of entrepreneurial opportunities.  Led by industry experts Tom Johnston and Hugh Feibig, all attendees receive a copy of Tom Johnston’s e-book, The Headhunter’s Approach to Career Transition! We hope to see you at our next weekly meeting.

CITThe Mission of 'Careers in Transition'
To provide advice, guidance and counsel to members of the Cleveland and Fairmount communities in need of direction and help in their individual career paths. Our goal is to include everyone, from the college student to the semi-retired and all in-between. We are not only for the unemployed.

CIT is a volunteer group of experienced  Human Capital professionals committed to helping all who seek help as it relates to their work/life balance. Our organization covers 5 main segments:

  • First Timers – This group focuses on our young people that are either in school (high school or college) or recently graduated.  We will help in identifying a career path and providing the tools and services necessary to help our youth create a direction.
Group Leaders: Tom Roulston and Hardy Flickinger.
  • Active Job Seekers – For those individuals in an active job search and need personal help in writing resumes, developing job pursuit strategies, understanding and using tools and products to secure that new position.  In addition, we will provide ongoing coaching and support during this difficult process.
Group Leaders: Tom Johnston and Hugh Fiebig.
  • Mid Career Support – The average person is going to change jobs at least 8 times in their work life.  This group is for those that are gainfully employed but are seeking assistance in developing an ongoing career management strategy.  We will work to help these people advance their individual career goals. Group Leaders: TBD
  • Encore Career Seekers – Once an individual hits the advance stages of life, typically 50 years and older, the challenges of a career strategy begins to change dramatically.   The concepts and desires are very different and will incorporate a whole new set of needs and desires as it relates to career.  We need to be involved, but we also want to pursue passions.
Group Leaders:  Hugh Fiebig and Donna Kastner
  • Entrepreneurs – Many people, when really challenged, have a deep desire to become an entrepreneur and want to open their own business.  This group will help these individuals indentify the product or service, help them develop a business strategy,  write a business plan, outline funding options  and build a launch and execution plan.
Group Leaders: Lee Poseidon and Robert Hatta.

Be sure to join us for a weekly meeting.
