Coming up: MAUNDY THURSDAY SEDER
Jesus celebrated the Passover Seder for his last supper on what we now call Maundy Thursday. Join us on Thursday April 1st at 6:00 pm for a Passover Seder, dinner, and communion in Andersen Hall. Because this is a sit down dinner, we ask that you call the church office to RSVP to this event.
(This meal and service are appropriate for all ages, however childcare will be provided if notified ahead of time).

Does a Jewish Carpenter born during the Roman Empire have a relevant
message for us in 2010? Come and find out at Bible study at 9:30 on Sunday mornings. We have just started with a study of
the New Testament based on a contextual interpretation by Borg and
Crossan. This week's theme is: "Advent of the Messiah" with a video from
the series "First Light: Jesus and the Kingdom of God", which provides
the socio-political and historical context for the vision of God's
Kingdom. All are welcome to come once or more often. Led by Ulrich Hopfer.

FAITHFUL LIVES FILM SERIES
Our third movie, coming up on Friday, March 12 at 6:45pm, is
The Great Debaters, a drama based on the true story of Melvin B. Tolson, a professor at Wiley College Texas. In 1935, he inspired students to form the school's first debate team, which went on to challenge Harvard in the national championship. Discussion lead by Bryan Seekely.

BOOMERS± SPRING FLING
This Boomers± Pot luck social event is at 7pm on March 20th at the home of Elaine Price and Gordon Landefeld, 3390 DeSota Ave, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, 44118, on the 2nd floor (216-932-1508).
The ministry for the event is Earthkeepers, and the theme is "Bulbs for the Earth." Attendees are asked to make a contribution toward either energy efficient lighting for the Manse, and/or sustainable plantings in the church gardens. Elaine and Gordon will provide small pots, potting soil, and bulbs for planting as part of the evening activities. Please bring your checkbook and a main dish, salad or dessert to share.

As a part of the Lenten observance Fairmount presents Five Great Evenings of Sharing every Wednesday through March 24th at 6:15pm. There is dinner and following dinner we will break into different groups to focus on a particular topic or subject. The Adult group discussion will be based on the book Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. This week discussion will be of Chapters 1 and 20. If you are unable to read the chapter(s) beforehand, that's okay, the discussion will flourish out of the assigned chapters. You are welcome to join every week, every other week, or even once. It is an open group. Books are available through Rev. Eric Dillenbeck.

MEN’S BREAKFAST FORUM - MBF Web Page
This group is open to all men. It meets the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 7:30 am in the Conference Room. A light breakfast is provided for this hour of fellowship and discussion.
BEYOND ACCEPTANCE
This support group is for individuals and families who are dealing with issues of gender and sexual identity and the Christian church’s acceptance of gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender persons will meet on Tuesday, March 23, at 5:30 PM in Chilcote North. PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
The Prayer Shawl Ministry has been given a wonderful gift which has allowed them to purchase LOTS of yarn to make prayer shawls. Parenting Play Group Meets March 10
Serenity Now! Play Time for Babies, Toddlers and Parents!
Wednesday, March 10, 10:30 AM
Parents are invited to join Betsy Wooster, Fairmount’s Director of Children’s and Family Ministries, for some down time and adult conversation! This group will meet on the second Wednesday of each month through May, to share the joys and challenges of parenting and family life. We’ll meet in Fairmount’s Infant and Toddler room so that babies and toddlers will have ample space to play or sleep while we visit. Come for sanity, serenity and support from other parents of young children!

Mark your calendar for Pancake Breakfast!
WINTER 2010 Schedule
Every Sunday Morning: The Café (grd 7-12) in the youth room opens up at 9:00am with snacks, hot cocoa, etc. and at 9:30am Breakfast Club (grd 7-8), Confirmation Class (grd 9), and SHiFT (grd 10-12) will meet… except Sundays with Fundraisers: pancake breakfast, car wash, super bowl subs, etc.
1st and 3rd Sunday Evenings: Our youth groups God Squad (grd 7-12) and CHEER (grd 9-12) will meet from 7:00pm-8:30pm.
2nd Fridays of the month: All youth (grd 7-12) will go to Bethany Soup Kitchen to help volunteer from 5:00pm – 7:30pm
2nd Fridays of the month: High School Youth (grd 9-12) will have a “Fellowship Evening” of dinner, movies, bowling, or something like that.
4th Sunday of the month: Middle school (grd 7-8) and high school (grd 9-12) youth will have a separate brunch/ lunch at a local restaurant after church.

The second disaster of 2010 has occurred in Chile with an earthquake and accompanying tsunami which caused hundreds of deaths and extensive damage. The need for water, food, and medical assistance is a priority at this time. HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF
The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is responding in Haiti. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance has already sent funds and is working in cooperation with our ecumenical partners on the ground to provide emergency food, water, shelter and medical supplies. Please pray for those affected and give to the ongoing relief through PDA account number DR000064.
